Bodies

Brown skin, exposed
between hemlines
bodies
limbs
extending beyond the reach of pants
bulges,
reaching beyond restrictions
with shaking arms,
sticking out
of too short shirts

rounds
defying the square shaped patterns
our clothes are cut from

bodies
some call abundant
full figured
plus.
I just call them real.

Me, my reflection.
That which is tangible when I touch myself.
refusing to contrast

bodies fitting snuggly
lines matching up
always covered when bending
free

their bodies
the imaginary diagrams
on which our fantasies are drawn

like dress up dolls
filled in,
painted with expectation

no, not realer
simply
just as real.
